Welcome to the official blog for Britain Kalai Books! Here you find news about my current works, future projects, contests, giveaways, and other updates. There are several fun things happening in the next few weeks, so let's dive right in.

This month I am participating in Kelly Anne Blount's Wattpad Block Party: Winter Edition III. If you haven't heard of this event before, you should check it out. Every day will feature different authors from all over Wattpad. We have all written something new for the event: sneak peek chapters, character interviews, author Q&As, and loads of other interesting content. There are also giveaways to enter! Over 130 of them!

My feature day is February 26th, and I have prepared a sneak peek chapter for a story I am working on over on my Wattpad profile. My giveaway is already live; you can check it out here.

Another big thing I have coming up is my participation in an anthology on Wattpad. The ambassador-run fairy tale page, @_Once_Upon, is publishing a spring-themed set of fairy tale retellings, and they have asked me to contribute to it! One story will be posted every day during the month of March, and some of the authors will be undiscovered authors on Wattpad who participate in their short story contest. The deadline is February 15th, which is a little close, but if you wanted to submit something, there is still time for a fast writer. ;)

I won't go into too much detail about my contribution just yet, but I can tell you that it will be a modern retelling of a story that isn't told very often, it will be set in the city of Boston (my home city), and will be in short story format (like the rest of the stories in the anthology). This is my first official short story, so bear with me if I seem a little stiff in the format.

Also, in case you didn't hear, my work-in-progress story "Apple Blossoms" was recently chosen as a winner for the first-ever Fairytale Community Retelling Awards. The FCRAs are hosted by the @FairytaleCommunity, a fan-run community page where you can find more contests, lovely fairy tale-inspired graphic art, and lots and lots of reading lists. Check it out!
